Four Standout Benefits of Interval Training

MG_0718

If you’re currently wishing for a workout that’s quick, effective, and simple, you’ve come to the right place! High Intensity Interval Training, aka HIIT, is all the rage right now, and rightfully so. Here are 4 standout reasons why you should make interval training part of your workout routine!

1. Interval training is super efficient

While 40 minutes of running on the treadmill or outside can do wonders, HIIT training maintains all of the benefits of a long cardio workout but whittles it down to about 20 minutes (or less!).

2. It’s great for weight loss

By training in intervals, you’re getting your heart rate up faster and in quick short bursts which makes this technique your metabolism’s new BFF.

3. It keeps working even after you do

The trick to keep your body working out long after you’ve finished your gym sesh is an optimized heart rate. The more exercise your ticker gets, the more blood flow throughout your body. 20 minutes of intense sprint work can keep your heart working (at least) 45 minutes after you’ve left the gym = more calories burned

4. It does wonders for your heart

If you haven’t noticed yet, there’s a recurring theme here and it’s all about the star of your cardiovascular system, your heart. The more exercise you get, the better your heart, the better your body functions overall! The best part is that all of this and more can be achieved in just 20 minutes a day, talk about zero excuses!
